How loud is straight piped stock piping on an lly? Is it so loud that its hard to hold a conversation? how does it sound under normal driving? I want to do this but dont want others who ride in the truck to complain.

My Lb7 is straight piped and its not bad. A little loud outside, but inside you hear the exhaust about as much as you hear the engine. I think I read the Lb7's are usually louder than the later models, so you'll probably like it! I do!

Do it, and tell them if they don't like it, they ought to go ride with a guy in a Powerstroke. :eek: That'll cure them of their whining.:D

Cousin's truck (LLY just like yours) has the 4" Banks system with mffler delete pipe. It sounds plain awsome. In the cab not too much noise but outside its crazy. It definately turns heads. :eek:

The LLY and LBZ engines are very quiet trucks to begin with. Putting a straight pipe on them only increases the interior noise slightly. If you need a 4 inch straight system feel free to drop me a PM. They are VERY well priced:D

is there a noise difference in running a muff or not running a muffler on the mbrp 5 inch system. got mine today but they forgot the muff delete pipe .

I'd like to know too. I've had mine straight piped since I installed the exhaust. I really like how it sounds but lately have been wondering how the muffler will change the sound.

I guess if I wanted to know that bad I could buy some new clamps and put the muffler on...

just to let you know there is a huge difference in sound i had 4inch with just muffler on for about a year and loved the sound, but with out muffler on my 5inch makes it sound even better alot more turbo noise. pretty much same cab noise between both systems and that is why i am very happy with my decision more outside noise and alot more turbo noise out the tail pipe and not in cab. it sounds mean!!!!!! just to let you know . no cats on either system.
