: tire sizes for 3500 four by four bsanders 12-31-2004, 01:23 AM I just got a 04 GMC 3500 crewcab 4by4 duramax. It has stock tires with 16by6 Alcoa rims. I'm wondering about what tire sizes I can put on the truck. I want it to look more like a 4by4 than a 2wheeldrive. Where can I find these greenkeys for the front end? Do they work well? What about tire spacers for the rear end,and are they save? Or you can go with 255/85R16 and put a 1.5" or 2" spacer in the rear. Diesel Dually 01-01-2005, 09:53 AM Do a search...there is some controversy around spacers and the like. I'm concerned about the safety of using spacers. Some say they are okey and others say not to use them if I plan on towing. I definitly don't want to loose a tire becouse the lugs came loose.
