To have the Allison tranny upgraded. What needs to be done and what shops are good for this type of upgrade.

There is ATS DTT Suncoast..... all are good at what they do. And all the trannies have their +/- from what i have read

I have a DTT and am very happy with it. But without comparing the 2 other choices i am not impartial on the subject.
If i were you i would PM Members about their respective transmission choices and their different charecteristics not just 'I bought it so it must be the best'
Ask the members what they do with their trucks ... Towing, Commuting, Racing, etc and get their characteristics written down. Then see what they run for a trans.... what they like/ what they would change about it etc

Then match up their useage with yours and their trans choice. Call MikeL for input, And lastly, call the vendors ... after all that... the choice is yours alone, but remember that you are not alone in your choice.

I got the Suncoast 3 since I felt it met more of my needs. I was noticing some slippage from my tranny and limped it twice. I got fed up with that and called Joe at Suncoast. He gave me the name and number of a local man to do the install. Cost was $3200. This Level 3 will hold 500HP and I am not close to that. Absolutely no problems since the install and am very pleased with my decision. Would I do it all over again? YES
