Anyone know if there is a way of telling if a Predator (LB7) has been installed, short of actually trying to upload a tune? Also, is there a way of telling what version it is?

I am evaluating a Predator that I was told has never been installed. Still has the film across the screen, and certainly looks new. I haven't hooked anything up yet, and probably won't be able to until Sunday or Monday. Would like to know exactly what to look for before I start playing around with it.

I will probably only use for monitoring, as it sounds like the Predator doesn't stack too well with anything. Besides, until I get my tranny done, Hot Juice w/ Attitude is more than enough.

I just want to verify what I would be getting. Price is good if tunes are still available, but probably not good just for monitoring ability.

Thanks for any input.

There is a way to look it up in the menu when it loads in another menu.........if it has been used for a tune it is VIN Locked.......and is just a scanner then.

If you can get it for a great price Diablo will unlock it for $75 plus shipping

Are you saying that stepping through the screens, it will stop me if it is VIN locked? OK, if it is not locked, what is the last point I can stop before I lock it to my VIN.

I may need to just play with it, and then come back with more intelligent questions, if I don't figure it out.

$225 bucks, which seems good if it is not VIN locked; not good for just the scanning functions, as $75 plus round trip shipping to unlock plus the $225 puts me in the range of what I can find it from around here. I wonder if Diablo would even unlock it if didn't have my VIN?

Thanks!

You can plug it in and let it load up to the screen with TUNE IT - DIagnostics and I think it displays OTHER as well.........I beleive it is under other options ...... you can see the VIN # if it is locked without attempting to load a tune.....

I think $225 is an "OK" price if it is usuable, but I have seen them for $325 brand new......

I have mine in the garage but I know you can check it somehow...
