: Should I remove Edge?

I am taking her in tomorrow to check on why she is blowing out white/blue smoke. They thought maybe too lean of fuel. I thought that maybe related to the edge since I dont have the attitude display to monitor defueling or other stuff when it comes to fuel. They are also wondering if it is blue then it might be oil. On another thread, I wrote about losing oil. The smoke does not smell sweet, but rather offensive. NO it is not ME passing gas! :D My question then is if I take off the edge, it might not smoke all that bad. What would you guys do? I have a good report with the service department here too.

I have 86K miles and bought it used 7 months ago with 69K miles. I run #2 diesel and add Standadyne PF. When I idle, I use the high idle (just added 1 week ago). My power seems to have decreased some but I added 700# sand bags in the rear and now the winter front covers are on. I just thought maybe a little more info might help.

Thanks

Ben :ro)

It looks like you don't have the attitude which makes it to easy to not remove it.

Yes I agree but what if the white offensive smoke is from the edge? What gives? I mean to tell you it STINKS! I like diesel smell and this is not that.

I went outside and removed the edge. Now I am very sad and disappointed!

Why are you disaapointed? If it doesn't act up with the edge off you want to be dealing with edge and not GM anyways. They won't be able to diaganose it with the edge on.

Is the problem corrected?

I dont know if the problem has been corrected. I will go out and start her up and let her run for a bit. I will let you know.
I am sad because I lost my good friend of power. I always like power and now it has been removed from me.

Even a good friend needs a rest once in a while. :) Don't worry he will be back! :D

I took her in and they think it is my #2 and #8 injectors that are bad. They are not quite done yet, but that is what they are thinking. If so how long of an ordeal is it to replace all 8?

I feared this was coming on.
