So I just got back from my first real Duramax adventure, and it was almost 100% trouble free. I started out in Sterling, VA, hauled my Pinzgauer to Denver for some much needed repairs, visited with folks in Tulsa, OK, and then back home. It was my first towing experience with the truck, and it's incredible. I don't notice any power loss with the 285s, but I really need to do some exhaust work. The truck was still pulling hard when I got out of it due to high EGTs.
After about 4k miles (12k total on the truck), the dash cluster went wonky. Speedo/tach kept working, but the rest of the gauges went to 0. The battery light came on, as did several others. The DIC was set to show instant mileage, and it switched to "--". Engine ran fine.
I pulled off at the next exit, cycled the engine on/off, still the same. Re-seated the connectors for the Edge, things were back to normal. It's been about 1k miles since then, with no recurrence.
Anyone seen this before? The connectors were fully seated, and had been working for months before this happened, so I can't imagine that something had a loose connection.
