Hey everybody. I am new to this sight and thought I could get some advice. I have a 03 2500HD Gasser with the 8.1 Litre. My engine light came on recently and the mechanic said A dirty air filter and mass air flow sennsor code came up. They cleaned the mass air flow sensor and recharged my k&N, then reset the code. Well It came back on and the new mechanic said it had the same code and said to get rid of the k&N. Well it goes on and off. Has Anybody else had this problem?

I have a 2001 8.1 with the K&N FBIK or whatever its called the pipe tube induction kit, factory box removed. 98K miles never a problem with it, cleaned periodically.

If they over oiled the K&N when they cleaned it, that could have been the reason for MAF sensor clogging, as it can suck the oil in under the pressure. Check it and clean if needed.

K&N 's are known for MAF Sensor problems...
