Hey,

Most of the hoses in my truck are around 5 years old but I have not developed any sort of leak. What are the most important hoses to replace first and when do I need to do this?

Thanks.

edit: The air conditioning compressor and shroud I want removed. It is a shroud on the passenger side. I have no AC and I don't care to have it. So what is the best way to go about removing it? The compressor itself is actually removed; it is the shroud I am referring to.

They are all important since if any coolant hose bursts then your engine will run out of coolant. I replace my coolant hoses about every five years as a preventative maintenance measure. I also use 7 lb. PSI radiator caps. I have never experienced a burst coolant hose (radiator or heater), leaking radiator, or leaking heater core since I started that practice over 40 years ago.

agree with cougerjohn, mfgr's claim 5 yrs from date of mfr, if concerned or if i think about something i have learned it needs to be replaced, brain trying to keep me going. dont forget to flush and replace coolant, normally as old

Don't forget the little (short, about 3" long) hose that goes from the pump to the outlet manafold. That one gets missed a lot.
