How hard is the install for this controller? I was thinking of doing it myself.
How much would it cost to install the shocks and controller by someone else?

I would not recommend installing the in-cab controller. We got one free when we bought 4 new rancho rs9000x shocks for our duramax (promo offer).

We also have rs9000x shocks on our '95 work truck and decided to install the kit on it because we couldn't find a place to mount the compressor on the '02 and didn't really care to change settings on it too much.

After mounting the compressor, drilling another hole in the firewall, cutting all of the tubing, installing the fittings, etc. we fired it up and it leaked all over the place. The main leaking area was the fitting on the shocks. But, it also leaked from where the tube goes into fitting, there is no way to tighten it.

Spent several more hours trying to fix it but ended up ripping the whole thing out. Big waste of time, wasn't very happy about it.

I had heard bad reviews about these systems in the past but this was supposed to be an updated version and it was free so we gave it a try. I wish we wouldn't have messed with it.

Maybe others have gotten this system to work, but I certainly won't installing one ever again.

Ditto what Ryan said,

When I was looking into the in-cab controller for my Rancho's, the local 4 Wheel Drive shop said not to bother. Leaks too much for the effort.

He said they work well, if you're lucky. But they will leak sooner or later.

It only takes me about 1 minute to do all 4 adjustments for towing or load control. Now, if you had non-stock tires, it might take a few seconds longer.

The Ranchos are so easy to adjust without the controller that you should'nt even bother. After a couple of times you know just where you like them anyway. By the way they're very easy to install and work great.
