I had 04 chevy crew lt 4x4 lb7 juiced edge w/attitude love the truck should have never sold. Great power & good on diesel. I recently bought a 05 gmc crew 4x4 lly all stock power not even close and fuel is not as good. I found a 02 chevy ext cab 2wd 88000 miles for $17000. If I add a edge to 05 would it make that much difference or should i consider going back to lb7? Thank you for any help.

If I were you, I would keep the 05. Why would you want the possible injector headaches and head gasket issues with the 02?

Just get EFI Live and don't kill the tranny!

I had 04 lb7 trouble free. Like the power and fuel mpg. If I could get close w/ 05 would be happy. The only thing I don't like on 05 is it has no lumbar ajustment( I have sle w/cloth)

Fuel milage is one thing, but I would give it up for piece of mind on the injectors, it I had known about the problems before I bought my LB7.:(

my buddys all drive lly and they all want an LB7 but we all know the lb7 had a few kinks, we also knew the lly had poor mileage if I could afford to build another truck definatly an 05 06 or 07 classic. yes the edge will make a big difference at least it did for them but EFI Live is the only way to go anymore. I'm just hoping my money tree grows soon!!

you had lot of trouble?

Bought it before I found this site. Left me strandard 5 times, once in 15 degree weather while out with the wife at dinner on a saturday night and had to have it towed. Found this site because of the injectors. (Silver lining in ever cloud?:rolleyes:)

Then reading all the headaches guys have had either getting or not getting injectors fixed by GM, or guys like Hindle that lost the engine most likey do to an injector issue that is not coverd (stuck open), and I just hope I don't have problems with these injectors.

Don't get me wrong, I love the truck, but this does worry me. I plan to make a list of what you have to do to replace them myself, and hope I can find someone who has to come help me do it for some beer and pizza! I plan on keeping her for a lot longer than the seven year time frame.
