Can i add the cognito pitman and idler system to a procomp 6" lift. Please advise if anybody has done this or has any experience. If so i would upgrade my tie rods to cognito as well. Thanks.

It's do-able

Cognito told me that the idler arm brace is the only thing they would recommend with the Procomp system. They stated that with procomps system the drop centerlink acts in the same way their idler and pitman supports do and that the idler arm weld in brace was still recommended for strengthening...

Yes... kinda,
Basically a Pro Comp kit is a drop down center link. What that means is the braces could bind on the drop center link and not work. The braces will not work on most drop center link lift kits. You will find drop center links on kits that use upper control arm drop style suspension.

Yes the Idler Pivot kit will work.

Nick, the 6" CST has a dropped centerlink...would you recomend cognito braces for it? I thought having a dropped centerlink kinda half-way took the place of the cognito braces?

Don't mean to highjack the thread, but I've got a 6" CST and it looks like my idler and pitman arms are bad...their is play in the joints and I think it's causing a racket as I drive over bumpy roads & into parking lots. I hear something and thats the only thing that has play in it. Everything else is tight.

The drop center links don't take the place of the braces. Some Mg's also have a idler system that helps keep the center link from walking front to back. This is one huge piece that makes the higher end Upper Control arm drop kits better than the others. CST's center link idler set up is one of the best but it still will wear and need to be serviced with new heims to take the slop away.

Again the Cognito braces will not work on a CST because it will contact and not allow the center link to move.

Gotcha, thanks for the info.

The play in my Idler & Pitman arms are up and down though. Is this normal? If I pry up on the centerlink it can move about 1/8". The centerlink doesn't walk front to back, so I'm good there.

That sounds like the Idler or Pitman arm has slop in it and it's popping in the cup. Try having someone turn your steering wheel and watch to see where the slop is.

Yeah, thats where the play is for sure. What can I do after replacing them to make sure it doesn't happen again...or was running 45k miles w/the T-bars cranked to blame? I'm not cranked now, and my CV's have good angles.

Sorry to highjack your thread CMX4X4. :D

I've got the same problem. I need to replace the pitman idler assembly now, and was thinking about getting the cognito parts to make it stronger... but I have a 6" procomp inbound and dont really want to spend the $216 for the kit if it wont work in two weeks when I put the lift on.

Whats the final verdict? Anybody have the cognito parts on a drop lift that can post pictures of how much clearance there is?

Thanks in advance!
