: How to get best deal on a new GMC?

Hi everyone, new to the site here, looks like a nice place though.

I'm in the market for a new truck, I'll likely be ordering a loaded 3500 cc 4x4 dually in January. What are the tricks (other than normal haggling with the dealer) for getting a smokin deal on one of these puppies? I refuse to pay over invoice (before rebates and whatnot) on new vehicles, so I hope that these trucks aren't in such short supply that that's not possible... I don't suppose that under invoice is possible? Are there any little-known ways of getting further discounts, like knowing someone who works at GM who can give a voucher for a further discount?

Thanks for any help, I'm hoping to be able to get a good deal on a GMC so I don't end up with a Ford. I've been a Chevy guy all my life, but I hate the front clips on the Chevy trucks so I'm trying to go GMC this time.

If anyone knows of any good dealers in central CA (Bay Area or the Central Valley, between Modesto and Fresno) who will treat me right, please let me know.

Thanks,
Evan

Shaggy, first things first! Welcome to the site & may you get all your questions answered quickly & correctly!! As far as a discount goes, check out the G.M. SUPPLIER DISCOUNT as many of these guys have used them & are very happy with the saving. First things first, BE SURE the DEALER WILL ACCEPT THE DISCOUNT. I can get you a G.M. SUPPLIER DISCOUNT AUTHORIZATION # in a matter of minutes. I'm allowed 2 per month & the ones we are giving out NOW expire in March. If you want to talk about it or want a #, PLEASE e-mail me at = howard_m18@yahoo.com as I like to keep them altogether. Be glad to help out!! Howard= howard_m18 at yahoo.com):h ):h ):h

PM howardm18 and get a supplier certificate from him....no haggle if the dealer accepts the certificate..........then add in all the incentives after that.

A lot of GM employees are on here...I am sure more than one will offer a certificate to you.

BTW,

Welcome to the "PLACE"

The discount is different for every vehicle. It is close or right below invoice before any added rebates. Some dealers won't honor them though if they think they can get more. A friend tried to use it on a 2500hd D/A CC 4X4 and they told him they could get close to msrp so they wouldn't honor it. I recently recieved my ordered truck (6.5 weeks) and I used my father-in-law's employee discount. Had a friend at the dealership.

[B]DOZERBOY, the answer is NO! [B] If you have access to a G.M. discount you can't use the G.M. SUPPIER DISCOUNT. You can't HARDLY use more than 1 discount. I have heard of dealers using a combination of discount,BUT dealers could get in trouble for it. If you don't get a G.M. discount of any lind, you can use the G.M. SUPPLIER DICOUNT AUTHORIZATION #. F.Y.I. It takes about 5 mins. to get one. They are open 24/7. B.T.W. I & alot of the guys here that have access to #'s make sure that the dealer WILL ACCEPT THE DISCOUNT as they are only good for 1 person. I would hate to waste a # when the dealer won't accept it & the person doesn't use it. We are only allowed 2 #'s per month.

That being said, if I have a GMS discount, I can't take advantage of the $3000 cash back, $1500 GM loyalty, or $500 military discounts that are being offered to all this month? I apply for all the above, and a combined $5000 off is nothing to scoff at.

Prophet or anyone. The cheapest way to buy a G.M. truck is to get a "Company car" They will have 2-4,500 miles on them. As far as getting a "Supplier Discount" check with the dealer & if they let you use all 3, no problem from me!! E-mail me at = howard_m18@yahoo.com & I get you a G.M. Supplier Discount Authorization #. That's howard_m18 at yahoo.com Howard

I went to my local GMC Stealer and the salesperson I was working with would honor my GM Employee discount, but said that with the discount I didn't qualifiy for the incentives also. From what Donnie 1 says, it sounds like she was going to try to pocket the incentives along with the holdback.

Next stealer...
