You want the EFILive Flashscan V2. You can get it here. A tow tune is included.

EFI Support 01-02-2008, 10:29 PM We recommend that you purchase from one of our authorised vendors for a couple of reasons.
First - you will be in a similar time zone to them, so ensuring you purchase the right product and get great customer service will be much easier. Not to mention if you need help once you've got EFILive up and running. (It's currently 2.30 Thursday afternoon in Aust, and 4.30 Thursday afternoon in NZ - 1/2 of our team is in Aust, and 1/2 in NZ)
Most vendors will also throw in a custom tune with your purchase, something that we don't do - we excel in writing software to deliver a great product to our customers, writing tunes isn't our core business.
Also, purchases from our online store will attract import duties when the product arrives in US customs, so in most cases it will be cheaper to buy through a reseller.
Hope this helps
Cheers

With EFI Live you are creating the tunes yourself. so it can get better mileage than other tuners, or it can make better horsepower than other tuners. Its all up to you, thats the beauty of EFI! You can create tunes that work with the setup you have, rather than a boxed tune that is made for the masses.
Looks like your slammed dually would make a good hot rod pulling that trailer around, call trippen you will be happy with EFI
straightpiperoar 01-03-2008, 09:52 PM My main question is if I buy EFI Live will I really be able to get the full benefits of this program!!!! I guess my question is if I bought it this week how long would it be before I would learn how to make my own programs and really get the full of effect of everything EFI Live can do????:D

I think it will depend on your learning curve and the support you get from the vendor of your choice. I'm purchasing EFI today :D:D:D:D and I hope my learning curve won't be too bad.:o: EFI is very overwhelming to me since I've never done anything like this, but I spoke with a few vendors about what I wanted (and how much support I'd need) and a few members about their experience with that vendor and can't wait to get started.
Now I have to come up with an excuse to give the wife why I need to take the laptop out to the truck.

Download our software today - don't wait for FlashScan to arrive in the mail. Our software is free - see the link in my sig. Then download some of the tunes other users have made in the Tune Library (located in the stickies under the Custom Tuning sub forum). At least then you can see what other users are changing and by how much to generate their results and start you on the road of tuning yourself.

KWnotPete 01-05-2008, 11:08 AM Jakeleg, could you Please keep us posted on your successes and failures.Alot of us are intimidated by EFI and a little scared to think what could happen.I like the idea of EFI but is it a good idea to use for those, like you said, computer illiterate.I personnally am very interested.
IdahoRob 01-05-2008, 12:19 PM Ok I've downloaded the EFI 7.5 now how to I get it to my truck and do I set it how I want? Theres surley more to this gig than this? I appreciate your help on what I need as This really interests me but I am so computer illiterate. Thanks
Have you bought the V2 cable?
All the vendors on here give a free tune with purchase. You then can compare your stock tune to that free tune and see what has been changed. Make small changes and save as a new tune. Test.
JakeLeg 01-05-2008, 02:19 PM No I haven't bought a V2 cable, how much is it and where do I get it. As you can tell I don't know anything about this yet but I will. Thanks

If you downloaded the free software off of their site, it's just a demo. I don't think you can save anything.
IdahoRob 01-05-2008, 04:09 PM No I haven't bought a V2 cable, how much is it and where do I get it. As you can tell I don't know anything about this yet but I will. Thanks
You'll need the V2 cable along with the software to tune your truck. Contact one of the vendors that sell EFI Live for details.
EFI Support 01-05-2008, 06:11 PM As Rob said, you need a V2 and cable to put it into your truck. The download allows you to view our software, see it's features and allows you to view the files that other users have created. This should allow you to get a feel for our product and assist in your decision making process for the right product for you. EFILive takes time, it has a learning curve, and to some it may be daunting. For most, they are more than happy with our product and their own results once they spend a few hours with it. Choosing a vendor that suits your needs and who is able to provide the right type of support is a great comfort too, I've heard nothing but praise for many of the EFILive vendors on Diesel Place, Rob included.
The tune library is now back up and running, so have a look through the tunes other users have posted. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/local_links.php?catid=1
