I am trying to get a different cd player for my buddy..his is am/fm has a cd player that is factory. Saying he needs a VCI number.. question are these vehicle specific or just for one cd player. Number on this cd player is 15138491.

I believe that VCI numbers are vehicle specific, you have to call Techline every friggen' time you program a stereo and it sucks.
