HI. Guys im new here. And was hoping you could help. I have a performance muffler w/ 4" exhaust. And there is a low bass sound coming in the cab @ 1800-2000 rpm. Has any body ever had this problem. and can it be solved. The muffler shop says all they can do is put my stock tail pipe back on. And this sould cure the problem. Only thing wrong is i dont want my 3-1/2" tail pipe back on. Any help would be helpful.

Thanks cody

the only thing i can think of is to try and cover the vents in the back of the cab. i have placed some foam packing in mine, cut to fit of course. it actually cut down soem of the wind noise i was getting in my cab. these vents are behind the back seat. try this first and see what it does.

what kind of exhaust is it, manufacturer?

also is this a full exhaust or just cat back? if your muffler happens to be one of the type that is reversible you might try that as well.

What you hear is often referred to as "drone". It's low frequency and will go through anything. Anyone who has run a hotrod with glasspacks can describe it well.

You need a better muffler.

I have heard the TTS system, and it is pretty quiet with no drone. Personally, I like noise. ;)
