How much trans fluid does it take for the allison?

I only drained the Allison and it took 7.5 quarts. Including the spin on filter. You need to measure what comes out.

It might sound crazy but my owners manual say total capacity for the tranny is 22qts. When I drained from the plug and spin on filter it took 7.5qts also.

Thanks guys, well i changed it before anyone responded, no biggie. But i found out the hard way and put too much in, so of course i had to climb back under and drain some out. i had about the same amount as you guys did. So body told me that it would be about 10 and that is no where even close. But thanks again.
