So im ready for it!! yes i have had a few built fords and i am looking at a 04 chevy i drove it and like it alot i did notice a noise it almocst sounded like a knock and the oil gage read low at idle truck has 114k banks 6gun and dyno max the day i drove it it was under 30 other than the noise i am hooked Help me make up my mind

If it's an LB7 I wouldn't even look at it. If it's an LLY find another one not unless your looking for someone elses problem's to fix, in which case you come over to my house and finish stripping my LB7 so I can finally get it out of my garage!

Of course hindle would say run from an LB7!:rolleyes: He lost a motor due to a stuck injector (most likely), burnt a hole in the piston.

But I have to agree with him on this one. Knocks not good. Low oil pressure (less than 25 psi or so) indicates fuel in the oil. I assume when you say knock, your not just talking about the Duramax tick, most noticeable on driver side rear of motor.

When you through the 6 gun in the equation, I would pass!

Keep looking and see if you can find an LLY (04.5-05) eight number in the VIN = 2 = LLY, 8th # =1=LB7

Run the VIN on the VIN check forum.

there is no noice at a idle and the oil presure is about 28 and runs right up to 60 or so when you run it up do you hear the tick at idle? i really like the truck the build date is 09/03 i didnt check the vin but will tomarow thanks for your time i know nothing about these trucks like i said i was a power stroke guy

That is normal. Search for the Duramax Tick.

Diesels tick. Its normal. A slight tick I wouldnt worry. All pressures and rates and filters ok, I would change oil to an upscale oil, synthetic. Amsoil, Mobil One, Shaefers, etc. Mine ticks occasionally. When its humid its terrbily loud under the hood.
