Any 120 Volt alternators/generators available that would mount in the 2nd alternator spot ? Any HIGH OUTPUT ones ?
Alternatively, any hydraulic ones that could be fed from the PTO on the ALLISON ? BTW, I have a 3600 with the raised passenger side floor pan, so PTO could/should/might be possible (-:

These folks make a kit for the Allison 01- current.

Hydraulic will pour out the heat for the amount of power.

How much power do u need?

W/ the twin alternators u could run an invertor w/ the large cables if u don't need a massive amount of power.

For the price of the real ac power unit, buy a small diesel generator and a bed mounted tank and save the idle time on your truck.

Thanks for the replies so far.
The real power looks good, REAL GOOD, but at 12Kw is likely more than I need and more than I want to pay. I was thinking somewhere in the 5Kw area.
Yes, a bed mounted gen set would be nice, but I'm hauling a goosie and every so often get into the 90+ degree turns, so there is a height limit that would be expen$ive to ignore. If I had the bed space a welder/generator would be even nicer, but thats a whole 'nother interest/hobby issue.
Right now I'm thinking 2nd gen and inverter, any idea what that would cost in the 5Kw size ?

Here's a small 5kw diesel generator and has a 25" height, but could be made a little lower.

This one is only 3kw but 21.75" high.
