not really. Just don't plan on driving on the spare for a long period of time. There is limited room under the bed for the spare tire. 265 would be the largest you can get on there. If you put 285s under there, you may find that you will burn some of the rubber off by being too close to the exhaust.

You will if you get a flat in a rear tire and don't want to swap out a front tire. I wouldn't use the stock 245 spare on the Eaton rear axle unless it matched the diameter of the tire on the other side.

like i said, don't plan on running on the spare, except straight to a place to fix it. i placed a 265 series revo on the lly. the 285 series spare will do you no good with a chunk melted out of it. i carry a plug kit just for the temp fixes for doing quick fixes.

Well, I don't have that problem. With the dually I can just swap one of the rears to the front and keep on keepin on. :D Don't need to carry a spare, as a friend of mine used to say "Less weight lower ET" Like that makes much difference with a 7500# truck.

I had a 285/75/16 BFG TA/KO spare, WITH a 4 inch Magnaflow. Did not touch.

I have installed 285/75R16 spares on my truck, my dad's truck and a customer's truck and never had one get close to the factory exhaust. They fit perfectly. I'm currently looking for one 315/75R16 to install as a spare on my truck since I now run 35s. I would definitely look to get a 285 for a spare since you are running them currently. An equal diameter spare is a very beneficial if you they need to use it arises. As stated, it would not be good to run a small diam tire on the limited slip rear axle.

well when i get my new tires (295-305/75/16) and i have a flat in the back, i can just take a front tire off and move it to the back, then put the stock spare on the front and id be fine untill i got a place to get it fixed right?
