: lb7 died today
002tallymax 12-29-2007, 01:41 PM truck felt fine, made a left hand turn and it died. no warning. i figured it was the edge box or fuel problem. " just filled up 2 miles ago". well i found the sensor wire on the bottom of the fuel filter was unplugged. so i plugged it back in. changed the fuel filter and primed the system. now i can't get it to fire off. what does that wire control and could i have damaged something. or do i still have air in the system?
Victory Red 12-29-2007, 01:56 PM sensor wire is just a water in fuel sensor that uses a positional switch so no you didn't break anything. Hard to say what the starting problem is though, check for leaks and for fuel in the filter head.
gowyn 12-29-2007, 02:00 PM checked your fuses?
I blew the 20a fuse for the computer, no start, no most things.
READYMAX 12-29-2007, 04:43 PM unplug the edge, return it to stock. Mine did the same thing and if it runs after that then call edge.
maxinDixon 12-29-2007, 06:51 PM Mine has died 3 times while in Reno Nevada on 3 different occasions. Thinking that going from 50 feet to 4500 feet elevation might be a factor in air collected within the fuel lines. Running stock except for the nicktane. Truck always starts up again after a quick fuel system bleed. So this week I installed a Kennedy pump and wiring harness. Had a heck of a time to prime the system but at least now I should not have that problem again.
Actually I think the truck runs a little quieter and is a little more peppy on acceleration. Maybe its just me.
002tallymax 12-30-2007, 10:08 PM ok, just stoped by the shop and it fired up.
idled fine for about 10 seconds then started to idle very rough. lots of white smoke from the exhaust. it smelled very rich. almost like gas or something. i would appericiate any educated guess as to what's going on with my dadgum truck.
thanks ,
jason
NCMIC 12-30-2007, 10:14 PM could be bad fuel or you may have lots of GAS in it. I would put in some additives and re-prime the system. you may have to purge the whole fuel system. My friends had alot of sludge in the lines just before the injectors when his was having issues.
002tallymax 12-30-2007, 10:37 PM i know i didn't f-up at the pump. wow that would suck. i would expect that of my ---------------------- o.k. i'm the only one that drives that truck
lovette 12-30-2007, 10:41 PM Did you unplug the Edge yet?
002tallymax 12-30-2007, 10:46 PM nope. do i just remove the pins from the plug or what. sorry for the dumb question but it was installed at the shop.
TheBac 12-30-2007, 10:57 PM You have to unplug the Edge from the bale connectors on the drivers side of the engine. There are two big loom connectors on top of the DS valve cover. Just squeeze the tabs on the sides of the connectors, and rotate the bar...that will push the connector out. Do the same to all 4 connectors (you'll know what I;m saying when you look), then replug the engine harness together. The plugs are different sizes, so you cant screw it up.
lovette 12-30-2007, 11:18 PM Bac beat me to it.
002tallymax 12-30-2007, 11:26 PM thanks guys. will remove it tomarrow. i'll keep ya posted.

It happens. Hopefully you can get most/all the gasoline out.
READYMAX 01-02-2008, 10:04 PM Let me know how that goes for you, and if and how you got that GAS out of your DuraGasser. Because you know that will happen to one of us, so we can laugh now.

My biggest fear is that it happens to my truck, and I did it, not the wife!
