The same fathead that swore up and down that there was no magnet in our spin on tranny filters now has sworn again. He says "all diesel fuel has water in it therefore all diesels have water seperators". True or not? Do our trucks have water seperators and if so where and how often should they be emptied. Scary knowing that this guy works at a dealership, no?

Check your manual and you'll find that our trucks have a Water In Fuel sensor (WIF) with a drain cock located at the bottom of the fuel filter.

Yes the truck has a combo fuel/water separator filter. Not a dedicated water separator that you are thinking about.

well i change my fuel filter just about every 5,000 miles so I guess that eliminates my having to "drain the bowl"
