What do you think? The last 2 picts are samples I've pasted together to get an idea of what the grilles would look like on my truck. I'm really undecided at this point and thought I'd get opinions. The big-mouth grille is a complete shell/grille replacement now available from Precision Design ...would have to have shell painted to match. Was also comtemplating an all-black billet grille but don't have any picts.

Stull looks the best outta the three to me. Hardware can be replaced with stainless.

LOL, you read my mind. I think it's about as close as one could make an 03/04 Chevy look like a GMC aside from mounting the red 'GMC' logo on the grille :)

I have the Trenz, but it looks an awful lot like the stull, and I really like it.

I don't remember what brand I have, ( got it off ebay for $45.00) but it looks like the stull, replaced the hardware with stainless and looks great.

I just order a putco for mine, it's the Harley inferno one. The guy that I ordered it through said it was real thick, but then I read here someone said it was cheap and flimsy. Anyone have feedback on this?

I just replaced the factory clear bulbs with amber bulbs as many members have. I think the number is a sylvania 4157NALL (Long life) ??? someone correct me if I'm wrong as I don't recall the exact number. You should also be able to turn up several threads by searching on 'amber' and or 'DDL'. Most autoparts stores carry the bulbs. Here's one thread I found.

http://dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14839&highlight=amber

Hope this helps.

You know, call me stupid or whatever but I also think the stock grille looks the best on the truck with it being white ...as the stock grille looks black and the black/white theme look ok to me. I think I'm going to hold off for now and save my $$$ for something else ... like a tranny upgrade :) Thanks to all those who responded.

BTW, if anyone is interested in the big-mouth ...you can order via StylinConcepts ... think it's like $359 then you'll have to pay for shipping and paint. In the end I'd bet one will be real close to $500. Too much for me, at least right now when similar grilles are available on eBay for 01/02 trucks for less then $150.

Make sure you post some picts when you get it installed :) I'd really like to see what it looks like installed. If I went with an aftermarket grille it would be the big-mouth also.

I bought one of these grilles a few months ago as it was advertised as fitting 03's ...had to send it back but it was a nice grille, albeit ABS but the big mouth look. Would be nice considering the price and looks good IMO.

Just incase any of the supporting venders are reading this, I'm lookin' to buy...anyone?

I have yet to see any "big-mouth" grilles on eBay for 03/04's. I must be using the wrong search terms "Silverado grille" ... "Silverado grill" ,etc. ?

BTW, I've spoken with Precision Design directly as well as StylinConcepts and a few other places. They all want right around $450 for the grille and shipping from $65-$100 which is absurd. Also, the big-mouth grille is made to order and usually takes about 2 weeks to ship. The PrecisionDesign is the only big-mouth grille I've found via a week's worth of searching/research/phone calls that fits 03/04 trucks ..and it's so new most vendors don't even know about it yet. Thus far StylinConcepts and one other place (forget the name) are the only vendors setup to order them...at least that's what PD told me. Good luck.

I chose a polished stainless steel speed grille for my new '04. Painted the bow tie emblem also to set it off. Only thing I might do different is cut out the factory cross hatch grille behind the speed grille. From the front, you can still make it out behind the speed grille.

Hey Mav, what made you go half ton this go around?I sold all my trailers and don't hotshot anymore. Having a 444 RWHP grocery getter was fun but not necessary. I always wanted a crew since 01 and the 01 Duramax with 86K had an injector stick open so I traded it off. I wasn't going to go through 2 trucks with injector problems. If I ever start hotshotting or buy something heavy to tow, I will be the first in line for a LLY. I'll still be involved here but not as much but don't want to fall behind on whats going on with the diesels.

$15 for the shipping (UPS Ground).

Auction:confused:  ... I had just spend $300.00 buying RV parts for trailer. The card was still sitting on the desk, so I said to h@ll with it (Merry X-mas to me) and bought it. Hope I didn't step on any toes:o.
I'll post pic's and if anybody wants a pic of something specific, just let me know.

You can get either bolt-over or cut-out where you cutout the OEM honey comb. I would go with the cutout as it looks better and would breath better.

If I had known their shipping was so cheap I would have pulled the trigger earlier ...snooze you loose I guess. It doesn't look like they are selling any more either. I guess it will give me time to start saving ...maybe I'll rob my son's piggy bank. :)
