How do the winter covers fit on the 07.5's and the 08's. Is there any drilling required or are they held on with string etc. Anyone have any pics??
Thanks

They have clips that go along the grill somehow. I was going to put mine on and then decided not to because I couldn't get the vinyl to stretch enough to get it where it needed to go. I have been driving mine the last 2 days in single digit temps and it's still running at normal operating temperature without the winter covers.

They fit on very easy................all clips, just brought mine in the night before to get to room temp, went out the next day, and had it on in about 5 minutes...........I just use the upper cover, have had it on for about a month now............really makes a difference..............no drilling, no strings, fasteners, bolts, nothing like that.

Does the truck just warm up faster then? I'm new to diesels so I wasn't sure. I plug it in when it's < 30 and let it warm up with the remote start, etc.

Yes, and when moving keeps the cabin toasty..................I'm in Buffalo, as you can see, and we've had some pretty cold weather here so far, and I haven't plugged in yet......my truck sits outside (too big for the garage). I have an extension cord set up to plug in when I'll need to which I don't plan to do unless we get below 0. I remote start the truck, wait about 5-7 minutes, then go out and get in and go.............You can choose to plug in if you wish, but, you'll be turning the electric meter if you do every night unless it gets that cold..................hope this helps!

Yeah, you definitely want to make sure that the grille area that's to be covered is clean...........bring it in overnight, let it get warm, it will stretch easier which it's designed to do for a good fit.

Mine fit nice, but had to remove it when I had to plow. She overheats w/winter cover and plow on. Was 15 out when I tried to remove it. What a pain in the ass. No way could i get those clips off, got pissed off and riped it off:mad:. Winter cover for sale...cheap...lol:cool:

heat gun. I took mine off because we were getting warm for a few days and so I decided to clean it. By the time I went to put it back on it was 10F. Had to fire up the torpedo heater and heat gun to get everything comfy to get that sucker to stretch.

OK, here we go. You owe me a cigarette and a piece of dog poop, that's what I spent taking this photo. :D Anyways, they tell me to only run the top...so that's what I do. Pardon the frozen, dirty ass truck - it doesn't happen very often!!
