What numbers are you guys seeing for "slip"? I was seeing ~20-30% when towing a light trailer, but it dropped to 0-10% when I put on Tow/Haul. Even running empty without trailer, I'm seeing 15-20%, and still 0% in tow/haul. This was all with the Attitude on level 3. Even on level 1, "slip" numbers were about the same??? Anyone seeing similar results or have I toasted my converter/trans???

With the TC locked up I see 0% but the odd time it will read .6% for a split second, this is without towing. Without lockup it varies all over the map.

I don't think you have a problem, slip is a constantly changing number, reduced in T/H. You should be all over the map till about 50 mph (5th) in Normal. In T/H, you should routinely see 0.

If the converter is locked you should see 0%(the blip to .6% seems normal) and TH will lock your trans mid way through 2nd gear. If your converter isnt locked you will see stuff all over the board. AT WOT you should see 0% though since the converter will lock up on you mid way through 2 regardless TH or normal. If you are seeing any # other than 0% with the converter locked the converter is slipping and you toasted something. If you have the attitude display the gear it should have a little lock next to it when the converter locks. It dosnt seem to react as quick as its happening though:confused:. In normal mode your converter dosnt ussually lock on you(except heavy throttle) bellow 50mph or a hair above. TH just raises shift points and cause the converter to lockup much sooner

Thanks for all the replies. That's what I figured, but I was just checking. I don't think that the slip is a great one to have on the display during around town driving. I guess I'll switch to another...

Thanks again!!!

I have my Attitude configured to the three way setting. The large box is slip, the other the two small ones are which gear I am in (which includes lock up information), and coolant temperature. I have boost and EGT gauges on the pillar. I find this information very useful. For example, I wait until the coolant temp reaches 80 before I move the truck. This seemed to be a reasonable number and by the time it gets there I have already run out of patience since the temps around here are routinely below the freezing mark.

The slip numbers are all over the place when the converter is unlocked. Normal. I also see the occasional blip when locked, but never worried about it.
