What are you talking about? These the only thing I can think of is the defueling between shifts. Can you explain a little more please.

when the truck is fishtailin at a certain point it will stop acceleration, some have said it puts the brakes on, and will make it straighten out

Never heard of traction control on a pickup truck. My doesn't do that...You must be feeling the defueling in between shifts and it looses enough power to regain traction.

The truck can not apply the brakes...

I have this in my Mercury ,Grand Marque but if you lose traction ( spin tires ) a light will come on telling you the TC was initiated .It can be turned off manually on mine in the glove box .Never seen it on my trucks but I have older models .

The trucks do not have that feature.

Is he possibly talking about StabiliTrak? It is an option, I do not have it though. It combines antilock brake, traction, and stability control systems to help the driver maintain directional control of the vehicle. There is a button to turn it off/on, and it defaults on every time you start the truck. Shows it in my manual as an option.

Your truck does not have Traction Control system. Your truck will also defuel when you manual shift also so that has nothing to do with it.

Are you sure StabiliTrak is available on the HD series. Its only available on 1/2 tons, suburbans, tahoes etc. iirc

no, I'm not sure. It's in my owners manual, but that doesn't mean it was available on the diesels. They show a pic of the on/off button in the dash also, but probably a gas engine only deal. I just threw it out as I'm not sure if he could have it or not.

i know it doesnt have traction control. can fry the tires off no prob. i dont think the truck defueling between shifts would effect it that much. and it was doing it in manual without shifting. its just wierd, never been in a vehicle that wont let you bring the rear end out very far. with a cclb it sure would be nice if it would

How is this deactivated.....tc disable button like escalades etc? This is interesting because according to my dealer here there is no traction system on any of the HD models besides the standard stablizer bar etc. I am curious to see what some other guys have to say. Kind of makes me wonder sometimes.......;)

Maybe someone can chime in and figure something out here. Do you have a tuner or anything, or as Malibu said fill out your sig and maybe we can figure something else out. Someone will chime in soon because this has got me curious a bit too.

X2 Could be a couple of things going on, didn't see any kind of option for traction control, stability control, etc.. in the order guide, maybe I missed something though.

My truck drifts like the pro's it is an 05 though. The wifes Tahoe has traction control it acts exactly like you are describing. and it does apply the brakes.

I know some fleets have it custom installed on the HD's. To prevent employees from hot-rodding. We tried to get that truck to burnout for a while.
