I have used the search and can't seem to find a recommended mileage number for changing out an air filter on the lbz. I have 35k on the truck and tow all the time. I plan on staying with the stock filter and have blown the current one out occasionally, but am concerned that it may be plugged after this many miles.

What are others doing with the stock filters?

Thanks,
m

I changed mine out at 25K. I run dirt roads frequently though. I plan on changing mine every 25-30K. From past experience I don't believe the filter minder. When I changed the last one I bounced it on my hand and all kinds of corruption came out of it. A new filter provides a mixture of protection and better performance. To each his own, but I like to keep things on a schedule and probably do all my maintenance well before it is really needed but I don't need to worry about whether the filters are on the verge of plugging when I head out on a trip either.

I guess I should point out that IIRC GM says the air filters are good for 50,000 miles.
I do use the filter minder, when it shows 50% I change the filter, witch is right at 25,000 miles.

Over 33K and haven't changed mine I'm waiting on the filter minder or a drop in mileage.

I'm at 44k and the filter minder shows OK, I have no loss in performance.

Be carefull blowing them out. Shop air has oil and water and residue from inside the air tank that causes the dirt already there to stick and plug the paper deep in the filter.
