Two of my friends wanted me to go film them doing some hill climbs on their dirt bikes and put it on youtube later:rolleyes:. After a few hours of wasting film, i decided to try the hill with my truck:cool:. Got in my truck, started it up, kicked in 4hi and launched it from around 1500 rpms. Stayed still for a bit until tires got traction then went zooming up the hill. Got up the first time no problem and decided to to it again. As i was going back down the hill i heard some rubbing but thought nothing of it, thinking it was just the dirt rubbing on the frame. Second time up, i launched it a bit lighter but hit it hard going up the hill. Thats when the s**t hit the fan. The 3" to 4" adapter came off of the cat, hit the ground, and starting compacting sand and dirt down the pipe:eek:. When i made it up, one of the guys flagged me down and told me to stop. "Your entire muffler came off!!!" He said. Looking closer at it, i saw that the pipe had wedged itself in between the leaf spring and the frame... We had to back the truck up so the right rear tire was almost off the ground in order to get the pipes out. Once we did, we had to get all the cooked sand and dirt out from inside of it. Then I tried it again with out the pipes:rolleyes:. Nothing broke on that run. Got back to the shop and bolted it back on...this time with a friggin impact wrench.

Put this on youtube instead of the bikes.. http://youtube.com/watch?v=Hp1gUJWHFGM

Note: The last run was put second and the second run was put last to keep the sequence consistent.

You're lucky! When that happened to me in my '94 gasser, the pipe ended up wrapped around the rear axle. destroyed. wedged like no tomorrow. needless to say, I have a "sport truck" exhaust on it now. Little shortie that exits just behind the cab. just built it with pieces that I could salvage from the destroyed tail pipe. turned out alright.

Oh well, could have been worse...

Side note- It's always been a rule of ours to stay away from the guy trying to ride MX in jeans. At least he had boots on. :D

If you have been doing that hill climbing a fair amount your pitman/idler arms are already shot. Plan on replacing them too because simply bolting on cognito braces wont fix worn out parts.

Those three time were my only times. Are there aftermarket arms or do i have to go with the stock ones?
