: Looking for an EFILive Vendor before the end of the year
Heartbeat Hauler 12-24-2007, 11:26 AM I wasn't sure where to post this so as not to break any rules or be the cause of a vendor to violate any rules, so here goes.
I am finally ready to purchase EFILive V2, but I must do this before the end of the year for tax reasons. I have spent some time in the EFI Live forum on this board but I am unsure of which vendors sells this product and there are about 5 or 6 dozen supporting vendors! Anyways, I would like some guidance, even if it has to be via PM, as to who might be a "good" vendor for this product. Also, I am a rookie (read - no clue) at tuning so after-sales-support would be highly desirable. I am not a racer and I am more interested in the diagnostic and the PCM/TCM exploring capabilities of this product so I ain't lookin for 12 second passes. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks and Merry Christmas!!
JP
Jasondt2001 12-24-2007, 11:59 AM Well I'm going to just list some vendors here that I know of and be unbiased, I can truthfully say I've heard nothing bad about these four guys whatsoever after people purchased EFILive from them.
Guy Tripp (So Cal Diesel) Trippin
Pat McRat (McRat Racing) McRat
Nick (Duramaxtuner.com) vortecfcar
IdahoRob (IdahoRob) Idahorob
There's the ones I see alot in the efilive forums helping out, and they're all helpful.
I hope this helps, and Merry Christmas and happy new years!
Trippin 12-24-2007, 12:08 PM I can ship today if needed. Or we can chat on the 26th. :D

I will definitely try to give you a call on the 26th. I am working at the local hospital and usually up to my britches in alligators, but hey diesel tuning is definitely a priority, or at least it can be on the 26th. Any particular time that is best for you, and should I ask for you?

I'm actually the only one working during the holidays. I gave the rest of the staff the week off. So I'll probably answer the call.

db9938 12-24-2007, 05:19 PM HH, Just curious, not flamin or that type of insinuation, but how the heck are you proposing to write this off?
I am just curious, as I may use that justification as well.

Probably as a diagnostic tool. :D
McRat 12-24-2007, 05:35 PM Write it off as Medical.
"I am addicted to horsepower, and this is my Methadone..."
McRat 12-24-2007, 05:38 PM Or write it off as housing.
"My wife divorced me because I would not stop modding my truck, so now I live in it. EFILive is just a Room Addition."

:exactly:
I own 3 vehicles, Suburban is my wife's vehicle, the 96 Caprice is mine, and the Dually is the company truck (PPP LLC), instead of taking mileage I write off expenses, i.e. service, fuel, and TOOLS (diagnostic scanner), tires, etc. Tools falls under the equipment I need to do our rental property, just like the truck, a new stove, etc. We had to have long talks with the accountant to get it straight, but now it's purty straight forward. The key is the extra vehicle.

Crack you up? He scares me. OBDII is a female plug, meaning that the other end is male........I dunno but that don't sound kosher as a medical device..
Cool, I was kind of thinking along the same lines, except that I don't think that I put on enough mileage to justify it in the IRS's eyes. I did however write off the line-x and retrax cover, as means to do the job and protect my assets.
SKIHIGHHD 12-25-2007, 06:54 PM ill be in touch very soon also i hope
Heartbeat Hauler 01-09-2008, 02:35 PM I got my "Diagnostic Tool" ;) yesterday in the mail and I can't wait to see what I can diagnose!
