Hello,

After considerable time reading the posts on this site and others I have a few questions about my planned mods. I hope I am posting in the right area. My D-Max is a lb7.

It is my understanding that the Edge Juice is the perferred upgrade. My concern is with the tires I have added. My dealer cannot program my speedo for 285's (265 max). The Edge will give me correct speed on the attitude and I can recalculate my odometer reading by hand if needed. Does the added tire size effect the perfomance of any other truck components in a negative way (ie. Transmission, transfer case, etc...) Should I have my dealer put in the 265 size so that I am closer. Would the Predator chip be a better fit as I am not interested in racing, stacking chips etc. Could I install the edge then use the predator for diagnostic and speedo adjustments only? Your thoughts appriciated.

I have also decided to install a fuel filter pre OEM. I have read pros and cons about many setups and for ease of install think the Nicktane or Racor units are appropriate for me at this time. The Nicktane uses a CAT filter which I like but does not offer water sensor or heater as the racor does. What applications are the heater and water sensor needed. Wouldn't my OEM filter setup still remove and alert water problems? Are the two units and filters comperable in preformance and installation (plain Racor unit is cheaper). I will add the new type OEM filter at next change interval. Again, thank you.

Yes, you can use both to accomplish what you want. The Predator does not seem to have that big a following on the LB7. Might consider the Quadzilla. It will also adjust for tires. I have an LLY version and for the most part I like it. It may be a little to much for us towing. Anything more than their lowest setting tries to spin the tires in the rain and snow. I am a new dealer for them.

Thanks Rick. I'm probably going to get the Edge then look for a used predator or other similar to adjust speedo and run diagnostics.

How do I get my sig to appear on my posts? I'm new to posting on these forms and can't seem to figure it out.

The things you want can be done a few different ways........as posted the EDGE/Attitude combo and Predator or Quad tuner will allow you to reprogram the speedo and eliminate top speed mph as well as reset DTC codes........Predator allows for real time data monitoring as well.

If you were to combine an EDGE with Attitude and a Predator you can spend about $900.00 on it......as well as the standard Quad which does not do as much as the predator as far as diagnotsics....

You could also get the standard TTS 30/80/120 package with the Powerloader II for about the same money, I beleive it is $895.00.

The TTS programs correct for ABS as well as tire rollout for the speedometer, you also have the 3 tunes and will get the same performance. The Predator like diagnostics are not included with the current TTS set-up, but that is something you need to decide if you want.

The EDGE products are on sale and many of the Vendors here sell the Predator as well.

Look around.........

Good Luck,
