Started the truck last night and it reads check oil level. When I checked it it was overfull and oil was changed 2000miles ago. Will the computer tell you that it is overfull? Am I looking at an injector problem:mad: . I could not smell diesel in the oil but I could be wrong.

My 2002 did not tell me to check the oil when it was overflowing with diesel. Sounds like a different problem. Maybe related to the level sending unit? IMO

If you know the oil wasn't overfilled on the last change, then something is adding to the level. I would trust the dipstick much more than the computer. The level on the dipstick isn't based on someone's idea of how software should perform, but it can be misread. Pull your dipstick and put a drop of the oil on a paper towel. If you get 2 distinct rings, 1 dark and 1 light, then you've likely got diesel in the oil.

Just how overfilled? If its more than 1/4 of an inch high than last time you checked, you need to take it in to dealer. I would let em check it anyway.

The level is mabye 1/8 inch high. The paper towel test was hard to tell. When the truck is warmed up and I start it the check oil level does not come on. When it is cold it displays check oil every time. Going to take the edge off and take it in have them check it. Thanks for the replys this site is rocks:ro)
