: Where to get connectors and pins
jholly 12-26-2004, 12:12 AM I'm looking for a 6-way F Metri-Pack connector and some female pins. The part number listed in the shop manual (12193928) doesn't cross on
gmpartsdirect.com or on partszoneonline.com.
Anyone know where I can get a connector an pins? Massive quanity of one on the connector and 3 on the pins. (better get 4 or five so I can screw up one or two):h)
TIA,
Jim
GMCSLEHD 12-26-2004, 02:45 AM If you can find someone who carries the Au-ve-co product line ( http://www.auveco.com/proddetelect.htm ) I'm pretty sure they make them.

Lennart 12-26-2004, 11:18 AM You will find all information here (http://dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6618&highlight=packard+connector)
smshiver 12-26-2004, 02:11 PM The wiring connectors are all AC Delco part numbers. Your dealer should be able to cross-reference.

ockgator 12-27-2004, 10:52 PM If you have a friend in the local dealer parts dept. have them look in the GM standard parts catalog, that's where the connectors and terminals are
dmaxalliTech 12-27-2004, 11:02 PM Jim, what plug are you looking for?
jholly 12-28-2004, 12:28 AM Eric,
I pm'ed you. Looking for a Delphi Packard part #12193928. Fits C5 on the Relay Panel - I/P. Right next to the trailer harness plug. Supose a trailer harness plug would work,
the part # I got I think is grey. Also need some pins for the plug.
TIA,
Jim
dmaxalliTech 12-28-2004, 08:09 AM If its the plug I am thinking off, its for the selective ride control on the Yukons, etc. I havent sourced a plug for it either. I like that spot because you can get Hot, battery hot and ground at that spt.
jholly 12-28-2004, 12:46 PM Yep, selective ride. IGN, ground and dimmer feed. Just what I need for my spiffy Trippn overhead mount gauges.

DavesDmax 12-28-2004, 12:53 PM Which pin is the dimmer feed? I assume that will allow for having gauge lighting controlled by the dimmer control?
That is the the middle connector on the BEC correct?
Lennart 12-28-2004, 01:01 PM Is this the Connector you are looking for?

I would register at http://www.powerandsignal.com and request samples....

Never did figure out what BEC stood for. It is the one down near the floor drivers side. It is the connector to the right of the 4 pin in the middle. As Eric pointed out it is for the selective ride.
A - not used
B - LED dimming signal
C - selective ride control switch
D - IGN 1 voltage
E - ground
F - Instrument Panel lamps dimming control

jholly 12-28-2004, 02:07 PM Lenart,
Yes, that is the one. Thanks!

DavesDmax 12-28-2004, 05:48 PM So I should be able to move my gauge lighting positive lead to pin "F" and I should have the gauge lights be adjusted with the dimmer circuit.
Agree?
joey83854 12-30-2004, 07:15 PM jholly, didi you find the connectors and terminals you needed?as i have alot of parts on hand . i can look up that part number and see which terminal you need ,if i dont i can order from power and signal as i have an account w/ them .not looking to make any money on this just trying to help another out

Yes. I put a meter on pin F and the voltage varies with the dimmer knob. By the way pin F is for regular bulbs, pin B is for LEDS. I have not really looked into it but I suspect the LED dimming is a variable pulse width signal.

Thanks joey83854. I registered with power and signal and asked for a free sample of the 12193928 connector and six 12162595 pins. Hoping I got the pins right. We'll see if it shows up. If not, I might well drop you a line.
