Called and talked to one of their reps in November. He said the first quarter of 08. Other than that he knew absolutely nothing and was so unhelpful I almost called back to bitch about it. When I say nothing I mean you could have sworn you called a company overseas that dealt with window blinds, they might have been more knowledgeable. For my LLY at least they got my number and kept me up to date with when they were coming out.

if they keep dicking people around like with the lbz programmer, you can wait for a while.

The six gun tuners are still in development. The engineering department is REALLY worried about the long term effect the system will have on the emmission systems (DPF in paticular). They are working very hard on it but we don't want to release it until they are proven to have no negitive impact on the DPF. I'll keep you posted on when it's due out and the power numbers:D

you probably talked to a salesman, all they know is why banks "is the best" and why you should buy it. Other than that talk to a technical support guy. They seem to be the most helpful and knowledgable.

aw man, they should make a dpf delete tune. They could make it like the highest setting and say "for offroad use only!" ;)

then they could sell another pipe to delete it. $$

Well we're in CA. Removing the DPF here is almost a death penlty offence:Nonono::lol: As such the system will be 100% compatible with the DPF.

You see there in lies the problem. There are allot of truck owners who live in areas where currently you can remove them and get away with it. This will not stay that way (the fact the DPF is on your truck in the first place is proof of that). The emmissions laws are getting tougher and tougher every year. In fact, if i remember right, the federal goverment will start withholding highway dollars in the next few years unless the federal guidlines are followed in every state. The current penelty for selling a product designed to remove or disable any emmission device is $2500 for the truck owner, and $25000 to the company that made it. Right now there is no clear testing procedure so it's going unnoticed, but in 2010 that will change and without that DPF you can't get a licence plate. If your looking for a Banks product to help you remove the DPF it won't happen. A properly designed system will have to use the smog system on the truck or it won't be legal on the street. Besides there are more then a few enviroment groups who would like nothing better then to bury the performance diesel industry as a whole period. Every time a product is released to fight the smog equipment is just one more bullet in the gun they can then use to shoot us with.:blahblah::rant:

I would imagine it would be limited quite a bit over a free flowing exhaust, plus that regen fuel bill would really start to add up, YAAY EPA!

Before my dpf fell off i ran duramax tuners 495 rwhp tune and it felt strong, but when I put my turboback on it made a huge difference. PPE has level 5 260 at the flywheel, but anything over 100 rwhp is the limit I think

I think we can do pretty well with the DPF on the truck.

We've seen gains in the 120hp-140hp range with the DPF in place. However, the tune we release will depend on which one doesn't damage the DPF. Not to worry guys I'll keep you all "in the loop":D

you can run alot of pwer with the dpf the problem is it will constantly regen the dpf does not like much added power 100 hp or so and it starts to go south . with constant regens

the guy saying that it is because they are in cali sounds like bs to me. i think they are afraid of the tree hugging epa people. it is my right to do to my truck what i think should be done. well maybe not my right but that is the way i look at it. i payed for it and if i want to change it i can. thats fine if banks does not offer the system, as i will not buy from them. Yes i have own banks stuff in the past and liked it, but the dpf has got to go.

Banks Alittle behind other tuners in the open market whats up with that

they are a large corporation and have to get many employees and divisions of their company ready for the release, not to mention the extensive testing and R&D. (Just my guess)

Everybody seems to knock banks, but there is a reason why they probably sell the most tuners of all the companies and are the most well known and popular.

I signed up for what I thought was an online newsletter on their website in September, and by the next day someone called me to follow up and let me know what was happening with the LMM products. Just the intercooler available at that time. He also mailed me their brochure/catalogue and other info, and called me back when the cold air intake kit became available. So to me the customer service seemed to be great :)

I have installed a bunch of Banks stuff on Customers Diesel and gas engines at a shop I worked at in the past (10 or 12 years ago I guess), before the factory turbos on the Ford 6.9/7.3 and on GM 6.2 the Banks Sidewinder kits fit well and worked great. And a few Power pack kits went on gas engines, really nice headers etc. So going from that experience, I would try their products.
For now I am going to try and stay stock until the warranty ends...:D ya good luck with that :idiot:

He also mentioned that they take the time to make sure it is the best it can be, so they were the last to market with the previous generation controller.

Cheers!

They make high quality stuff that won't waste your truck just because you want to smoke the tires, they might not push your engine to it's limits but, I'm OK with that as long as it's reliable and trouble free.

I am still planning on buying the Banks chip when it comes out. I'm sure it was just one of those things where I talked to the wrong guy on the wrong day. I need to call back and hopefully get somebody helpful. I know how they can be, on my LLY they called on the day it was released to see if I wanted to buy it. Before that they called 3 or 4 times updating me about it.

they are also very good when you need help, they aren't only good when wanting to sell. I had a pda crap out and a new one was sent and got to me in FL in about a week. No questions were asked. They just sent me a postmarked box to drop the old one off at UPS.

When i needed the LBZ update it was emailed to me that day w/instructions

When i was picky how my truck ran in the highest setting, J Barker on here walked me through tuning w/SL settings with a couple phone conversations.
