Welp...I am pretty sure my head gasket(s) are blown..By all the signs I told Eric he said thats what she sounds like...(its not real bad...still runs cool )

So i guess i'm gonna try some block sealer hopefully that'll work til i can save the money up to have the heads pulled and new ones slapped in..

Eric made me feel alot better when he told me its probably not because of the way i drive..WFO 24/7,lol

I gather that you're off warranty already?

Remember the 100,000 mile warranty. Your post doesn't say where you mileage is at.

Sorry abot your problem. You kind of left us in suspense. What kinds of signs do you see/hear. Do you have antifreeze leaking out between the heads and block, or being pushed out the resivir tank overflow. Do you have to add water/antifreeze , is there water coming out the exhausr Those are signs I've seen with gas'ers and just wounder if diesels have similar signs. Thanks and hope you don't have to replace he heads.

I dove mine probably for another 1000 miles before having them done.... by Eric.

To be honest with you, if I considered another Dmax in the future, headgaskets would not worry me. They seem to be few and far between.

If you have one drop of antifreeze in the oil, fix it or park it. Anti is a killer on bearings. If in doubt, send in an oil sample. Later! Frank

It has 120K miles on her...

She was blowing anti out the res. tank and i could smell a lil anti in the pipes..but i ran some block sealer in it and it seemed to solve the problem(for now)..Hopefully it'll stay that way til i can get more money..oh well...but other than that..I still love her to death..hehe

In addition to Franks statement, I would also like to say that; Anti-freeze leaking into the cylinders will ignite under combustion chamber temperatures, with the resulting shock waves produced having an extremely destructive effect on aluminum cylinder heads (I have seen it practically reduce the aluminum to powder over time).

Have it repaired ASAP

Hey Guys...

I was wondering..Why would the head gasket blow?Is it just a freak thing sometimes?

Or would the truck have to be overheating?I never overheaded it(the previous owner could have)..and don't they computer shut her down b4 it causes problems?

Also..

Nothing you did likely. I have replaced head gaskets on 01,02,03 trucks, some were bone stock, some highly modified. They all were blown in the same manner.
