So it seems like I have a problem in the driveline when in overdrive. Had the edge on levels 3-4-5 and got the same feeling. When I get on the gas in 5th gear it almost feels like the coverter is slipping even though I hope its not cause I have the SCIII and the attitude showed no slip. So I got home and pulled the juice for the hell of it, went down the road, hammered it in 5th, and everything seemed fine. I'm not sure if I don't feel it now because of the lack of extra power, or if maybe it was the edge doing something funky. What do you guys think??
Thanks,,
Tim

You could just have a bad U-joint. I would grab some big channel locks and check the drive-shaft for play first.

Even with only 14000 miles?

I may be completely wrong with this..but I read a thread on here (and of course I can't find it, it was in the LLY section)...one of the techs said something about a rattle or drone and it turned out to be the heat shield on the down pipe was vibrating against the firewall. the fix was to just reach up in there and bend it back some. He said several had brought in their trucks and no one could figure it out.
this sort of sounds similar, but I can't be sure.. its worth a check though.
hope this helps

No its much more like having miss in the engine or having the rear/tranny slipping. I had to plow snow for 6 hours today and the truck ran great without the Juice installed. I guess I am gonna call edge and see what they say.

Before buying an 05 Dmax dually, I talked with the truck guru at the dealer about the problems people are having with the Allison transmission. He said there is a slip detector for the torque converter, that pulls back on the power if the torque convertrer starts to slip. But there is no detector for the clutch pack in the transmission. In this case, slippage can damage the transmission. He said it only happens when people add extra power with the new "chips" in the ingnition. Too much torque for the Allison.

I realize that, thats why I put a suncoast stage III tranny upgrade in.

Tim, you probably figured it out. Have you participated in the edge poll?

I'm not sure if I did or not. Do you know if they have a newer version since the origional LLY box came out?

They will probably be glad to send you a new one. That is the usual action, but seldom is the problem resolved. Let us know.
