I know alot of you guys are probably changing your oil the hard way or are using the Fram 'Sure Drain" system but I found something better. I have a friend in Arizona who introduced me to this new and innovative product. it is called Femco Oil Draintechnology. You can check it out at: www.nospillsystems.com Its more expensive that the Fram unit but I think its worth it.

That set up looks cool, but I use the Fumoto Valve...

I've got that set up on my CAT motor and it works very well for 7 years now.
I'll be ordering one for the Duramax too.

Yes, I'm sure the Fumoto Valve is good too. I just wqanted to point out a different alternative.

Looks like the drain hose is larger than the fumoto and doesn't hang down as far. Almost a flush fit.
I like it.

So where do you get one of these valves from? I can't seem to find a dealer online.

OMG...These things aint cheap.
Uh, no thanks.
Thank you for your inquiry. Femco Drain Plugs are generally faster due to a wider opening than your current plug.
Our Speed Click Design is a very convenient system for draining oil, but is usually purchased for 25 or more vehicles. The price of the plugs is $42 and the Clicker (used to open the valve) is $90.
Our Standard Design (screw on version) plugs is $30 and the Drainer is $11.
Please let me know what you decide.

The standard one is the correct one for our truck's $30 for the drain valve and $11 for the screw on hose.
I just ordered one today.
Very well built little unit.
Like I said earlier I have had one on my CAT motor for 7 years now and it still works well. Those drain valves cost me $95 dollars each and I needed 2 for the oil pan.
I'll post my finding's on the new one after I get it installed and used.

I had this on my '99 Dodge CTD. Got it from Geno's Garage, don't know why they don't list it for the Dmax (guess cause they're biased towards Dodge...) but I'll be ordering one for my new GMC.
If there is a downside, the tube gets pretty messy over time. I put mine in a coffee can between uses...

How is it any better than the $12 Fram sure drain? For one thing the sure drain is cadium plated steel not brass, I would rather have a steel drain plug like the factory one as it is much stronger.

It's in an aluminum oil pan, so brass would be my preference (except SS).
