Pros/Cons on these units? I am thinking about the Viper model-160XV, they say it monitors the wait to start light before starting. Any other suggestions?
Does an install of this void any warranty?
Max Power 12-25-2004, 04:15 PM Check out www.astroflex.com where are you located?

TheBac 12-25-2004, 08:39 PM Max & Ox,
Just curious, but what does a remote start system like that cost? Maybe I could get something like that for the wife's Blazer.

Max Power 12-25-2004, 10:21 PM 250+ gets you into the better stuff.
L.TIK, give BlueOx a call. Installation is 99% of the battle and Ox knows his stuff! You can't go wrong with him.

duramaxdiesel 12-25-2004, 11:04 PM What model of CompuStar should I get for my Dmax? I'm buying it off ebay but don't know where to start. There's quite a few model numbers. I want the one with the 2-way alarm too. Thanks, Nick
BlueOx03 12-25-2004, 11:42 PM Depends on what kind of range/features you want and how much you want to spend. FYI Compustar is very strict when it comes to ebay sales, they forbid them. With that said, they do not offer support for or warranty any ebay/internet sales. You might want to just find one local or go with an astro from Max Power...

duramaxdiesel 12-25-2004, 11:49 PM Hmm. Thanks for the heads up. My dad has one on his '03 Dmax with all the bells and whistles and paid roughly $800.00. That's some serious dough.
BlueOx03 12-25-2004, 11:54 PM Yeah, some way too much serious dough....

Max Power 12-26-2004, 11:21 AM duramaxdiesel, You should have no problem finding an astro start dealer in your area. They are manufactured in Quebec and they are a quality product. They are one of the best if not the best in the business. A top of the line unit properly installed with all the bells and whistels should be under $600 Canadian installed. www.astroflex.com
Victory Red 12-26-2004, 11:54 AM Off topic, but here's a rarity one dealer/installer recommending another dealer/installer.
If that doesn't show everyone who reads these boards that both of these guys are top notch people to deal with I don't what would.
Thumbs up to Nick, the mods and our quality collection of enthusiast vendors.
duramaxdiesel 12-26-2004, 01:17 PM Thanks Max. You twisted my arm. I'm going with the Astostart.
PA24Pilot 12-26-2004, 01:44 PM If you are so inclined to install a remote starter yourself, I highly recommend getting an Astrostart from Max Power. He gives detailed instructions including pictures, makes the job a whole lot easier. I got a 2106 from him it arrived Dec 24th and I did not start the install until the afternoon on Christmas day. I ran into some programing problems and PM'ed him through this site. He responded that evening that we would talk today Sunday the 26th. Where else would you get customer service like that? He called, we made a few programing changes and it works great now.
If you want the best product and the best customer service, contact (Max Power) Tony.
JRKRACE 12-27-2004, 12:01 AM Ditto....just installed a 2205 from Max Power with the seat heaters...No problems at all..
