A friend of mine recently bought a '04 Ford F350 6.0L Powerstroke, long bed, dually, crewcab, 4wd. He is pulling trailers all over the east coast. He says he's getting poor fuel mileage, around 8mpg, what is the best, safest way for him to improve fuel economy and power? I told him cold-air intake and bigger exhaust pipes would be the first cheapest place to get it. Suggestions?

He could try getting a reflash from the dealer. Some are better then others.

Cold-air intake and bigger exhaust will most likely not give him any better mileage.

He said he's already had the reflash. Part of the problem is his rearend, I think he said he has a 4:10. He doesn't go by the computer, he keeps track of fuel mileage by hand.
