Hello. I've been noticing now that its really cold (and I did notice this a few times last year) that when running my heater dial clear on the red or about 3/4 of the way over that it will then stay getting REALLY WARM no matter how far down I turn the dial. I can put it clear in the blue and it still puts out MEGA HEAT. I'm leaning torwards the temp controll dial but I though you guys may have some other ideas? If I shut the truck off and come back a few minutes later and have turned the dial down it will then start putting out cooler air again. It will warm up accordingly with turning the dial up, just wont cool back down when turning the dial down.
Any sugguestions?

Sorry, I screwed up, this should have been in the Trucks section, not Dmax.

Temp door actuator, about 75 bucks and pretty easy to replace. Dead center of the dash, all the way at the bottom, just to the left of the filter access door. Three screws, pull straight down, unplug and reverse. Have to take the hush-panel off first to see it all. If the heat will switch from hot to cold on the lowest blower speed, but not when the blower is screaming, that is it.

Thanks for replying! I was beginning to think it was a stumper... I guess I havnt tried it witht the blower on low. If I just turn it off and then back on a little later that sometimes works....if I shut the vehicle off for a bit and then start back up it works... At least I have a place to start looking! Thanks again!

My truck has done the same thing a couple of times. It will be on hot no matter where you turn the dial. Then later it will work fine. Hasn't done it in a while though.

Mine has done this also. Only on the passenger side. Watch your engine temps. I was towing and overheating slightly when mine did it. Returned to normal when it cooled down. Dealer could find nothing wrong. He said may be a cooldown provision for the engine. RIGHT!

Mine does it about 80-95% of the time anymore. I know I'm not overheating. I'm leaning torwards Max Payne's sugguestion, just havnt gotten around to it yet. Most of the time I can just turn the blower down and make due. If im in the truck over a few hours though, it becomes annoying.
Rick, I like the "cooldown provision" excuse! -:t
Thanks again!

My o4 did that took it to the dealer 3 times the replaced the door, the dash controler, and the 3rd time found wires to be cut that were grounding the system out and seting it to its defalt setting (full heat to the window)
