Can someone tell me what this is all about? I have a GMC 4500 diesel and have recently had a problem with a quart of oil leaking from a rubber drain hose when I start the truck. This began happening after the truck went in for a 6000 mi check-up. The dealer said it was a design problem and that they would get in touch with GMC. This morning it happened again! I start the truck and about a quart of oil leaked out from this rubber drain tube on the left side of the engine. By the way the rubber drain hose is on the drivers side and hangs below the engine. The dealer took the hose apart and showed me a little black box the tube is attached to and told me oil and water has cause this part to seize-up. Can anyone tell me why this is happening? <?xml:namespace prefix = v ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml" /><v:shapetype id=_x0000_t75 stroked="f" filled="f" path="m@4@5l@4@11@9@11@9@5xe" o:preferrelative="t" o:spt="75" coordsize="21600,21600"><v:stroke joinstyle="miter"></v:stroke><v:formulas><v:f eqn="if lineDrawn pixelLineWidth 0"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum @0 1 0"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum 0 0 @1"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @2 1 2"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @3 21600 pixelWidth"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @3 21600 pixelHeight"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum @0 0 1"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @6 1 2"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @7 21600 pixelWidth"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum @8 21600 0"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @7 21600 pixelHeight"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum @10 21600 0"></v:f></v:formulas><v:path o:connecttype="rect" gradientshapeok="t" o:extrusionok="f"></v:path><?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:lock aspectratio="t" v:ext="edit"></o:lock></v:shapetype><v:shape id=_x0000_i1025 style="WIDTH: 12pt; HEIGHT: 15.75pt" alt="" type="#_x0000_t75"><v:imagedata o:href=\"http://dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/confused.gif\" src="file:///C:/DOCUME~1/Owner/LOCALS~1/Temp/msoclip1/01/clip_image001.gif"></v:imagedata></v:shape> <o:p></o:p>

Hey SAM, my 99' 4500 drips a little because my top end is going bad, but I don't have a clue about yours. It might help to post this on the medium duty forum, maybe someone has some experience with your prob. Daryl
