My bro and I were heading out in my truck and he asked me why the hoods are higher than a 1500 truck. I have no clue why can you guys tell me? Thanks.

Because yours is a 3/4 ton truck, plus it has a taller frame.

But why does the hood looks like it has a cowl induction look to it. Sorry that was the word I was looking for.

In 04 they were the same. Changed in 05. Strictly design change that visually makes the difference between the "light" and "heavy" duty units more noticeable. More "macho" and whatever. Functionally no difference.

Since the HDs need a lot more cooling, the grilles are quite a bit bigger. To offset the bigger grille appearance a bit, the hoods are made higher. The 'cowl induction' split look is purely visual.

Thank you, now I can tell my bro why and act like I knew about this the whole time (-:
