I've had my LLY reflashed for fuel knock & idle surge. The service manager said I didn't have any codes stored either. Since the reflash, my truck still surges at slow speeds (around 1K RPM's) and rattles like a gasser on cheap fuel. Also, my mileage is terrible (Around 13-14 in mixed City/Hwy). I know the 285's will hurt the mileage some, but I would expect to get better than that. So it seems the reflash did nothing to help it. I run Stanadyne Performance Formula in every tank and purhcase my fuel from the same Shell station (Their Premium Fuel) every time. I now have 6,000 miles on it and I'm having the balance rates checked Tuesday.
For those of you that have had injectors replaced on your LLY's, were there any codes set? Also, were you having these same type of issues? Is it possible to have a bad injector and not set any codes?
Thanks!

I have had a couple with bad injectors that the reflash did nothing for. Put most of them in for high balance rates, no codes were ever stored.
I had the fuel rattle from 1800-2400 rpm. No codes set or stored. Did all the injector tests, balance rates etc. every thing in spec. Tech said it was the best he had seen. He did find that the ground wire was loose from engine to frame, no star washers. Rattle not totally gone, still bad when engine temp 180-185, but it is way better.

NEVER got one code. Even with the tech II and the mechanic in the pickup while the event occured. Only thing you will get is a snapshot or two. Replaced #2 injector for high balance. The other 7 were replaced about 1 month later.

First post on this but joined because of injector problems and smoke. I took my 04 in to have the smoke problem looked at. No codes but they kept my truck and replace all of the injectors. The dealer did not give me much info but when I got the truck back, it ran great. No problems more power and no smoke. Back to 17 mpg and plan to tow with it this weekend.
With the problem come back or did they have a ration of bad injectors?
