Have read about high idle kits for months now. Just what do they do and what are benifits? Thanks.

They idle the truck at 1250 instead of regular idle. It helps the truck warm up faster when it is really cold. It also helps the alternator charge the batteries better and any other reason you would want a faster idle.

-Can be used when "jump starting" another vehicle, Higher RPM = Higher Charging Amps
-Some use it in the summer heat when parked, which helps the A/C work better.

I would think the higher oil pressure when idling would be another benefit because of less cylinder wash.
