go with the amsoil bk-17 for the LMM motor

functions as well as the fs-2500, if not better.

only about $200 when you register for $10 w/ amsoil membership

less than 1/2 the price of a new FS-2500.

The FS 2500 is a much more compact and complete system. I am not going to get into a pixxing contest, but the FS 2500 allows the factory oil filter to remain, and slowly filters some of the oil at a slower rate through a smaller micron type filter. It filters out the soot. The system is much more complicated that I am describing, however, in my opinion, the FS 2500 is a much more compact and complete system. They are also coming out with the oil return through the filler cap. They should be just about ready for shipment! The FS 2500 filter elements are also easy to change. The system mounts underneath the drivers seat on the chassis. It is a little more money, but you get what you pay for!

You might want to check out the Oil Guard filter too. A little cheaper, easy to install and my oil test results look great!

Amsoil also has a sandwich adapter that allows the stock filter to be used, with a reurn to the oil fill. I'm not pushing Amsoil, but it seems as effective and a lot cheaper.

I just sold my Amsoil bmk on here last week, never had a leak or problem with it, I am going back to changing my filter the normal way.

Tom:

You're right! Both are good systems, it just comes down to personal preference. I meant to say that the FS 2500 keeps the oil filter in the factor OEM location. My personal opinion is that the FS 2500 is a more user friendly compact package.

As Tom S. mentioned, there is a smaller unit available(BMK-11). It's just a single bypass filter if you're looking for smaller and it allows you to use the same factory mount oil filter. Just need the sandwich plate for a feed and they do already have a return line to the oil fill cap. This route does cost more than the 17. Just a personal preference.
As for filtering, they are very comparable in micron size. Both get to 2 microns or smaller.
Here's pics of the units:

Be sure to check on pricing:) before ordering.

You have to add oil whenever you add an extra filter.

I believe it is a quart and a half added to the original 10 quarts making it 11 1/2 quarts total!
