Pulling into walmart parking space tonight, snow on the ground, decided I was going slide past it, so accelerated to next spot. As soon as I get in the spot, the trunk surged and went to 3rd right away.

I recycled the key many times and even gave it a few minutes between a few cycles. SES light and still 3rd only. Went into walmart, come back out and still the same. On the way home, I decided to try it one more time at a stop light and wah lah, she's back to normal!

Get home, stop at end of driveway to get mail and sure enough, back to 3rd only, by this time this is getting old and has me worried. Pull DTC's and get P0700 & P1781.

I've let her try and thaw in the garage for awhile now and go back out. Now the display showes 3rd blinking, but after a few seconds, P lights up. Put it in reverse and she'll surge, but R light is not on.

NBSU?

Can it be cleaned? My 92 Jeep Cherokee was notorious for this problem and a simple take apart, cleaning and new greased fix her problems.

Good to know, figured it's what it was...weird though, just drove a few miles down to my brothers house and everything would work fine except SES light, and no indicator of what gear it was in on the dash....weird I tell ya, just weird.

Where did you pick yours up at?

Was in time crunch so took to ally dealer and got raped for $277. Read in forums and there is some nice write ups about how to change them. I beleive NAPA has them from what I hear. $50-$60.
