what is the difference between the EFI live V1 and the V2?

Basically V1 cannot communicate with CAN which in general terms limits it's life to pre 2006 vehicles.

V2 can tune up to 221 vehicles (221 ECMs and 221TCMs), V1 can tune 25 controllers (ECMs or TCMs not combined)

A full comparison can be found in the document below.

To load tunes into the truck you'll need a laptop(or desktop) as of now. I've had customers use their desktops with a cord out the window!

You see Rob I thought the box in EFI Support's avatar held the tune from the desktop to the truck. If I have to have a laptop what are the requirements for it ??

The black box is coming soon HOPEFULLY...........

JD4440, as for the requirement, you just need the EFI software which can be found on the efilive website. You can get the free version there also to see exactly what you can do.

Not much needed as far as a laptop, if that is the question. Windows based and about any computer will handle EFI software.

My avatar is a picture of our FlashScan V2 hardware. It looks like and operates like a handheld tuner, except you require a PC or laptop pass-thru connection to download and flash your tunes. In the future pass-thru will not be a requirement, you'll be able to flash standalone. ETA is dependant on black box logging BETA requirements.

PC requirements can be found http://www.efilive.com/faq_support.aspx#Q8

Standalone black box logging is available for public beta testing in the forum section of our webiste at www.forum.efilive.com (http://www.forum.efilive.com)

Well, I have an older Dell "latitude cpi d266xt" laptop. Internet won't work on it for some reason but I guess it might work. I'd have to get with a computer doctor and see what the problem is. It has been worked on before but wasn't fixed.
It has windows 98 on it.
