I have all the normal exaust stuff on my 7.5. If I just replace the muffler with a straight pipe, will I get a bunch of engine codes. Will it help me or is it worth messing with on my stock machine. Thanks. Bill

I still have the stock exhaust, and just installed an MBRP dpf-back exhaust, which eliminates the muffler. With everything else in place you will get no codes. Easy swap, sounds quiet but nice tone at wot, and eliminates that GM afterthought of an exhaust on the LMM's.

Mine has the same DPF-back MBRP muffler delete tailpipe. An actual muffler really is not needed on the DPF trucks. It is just there to comply with vehicle codes (state laws that say all vehicles must have mufflers).

The tone didn't really change. I just wanted a better looking tailpipe. It does a tiny bit for performance, but not as much as losing the rest of the stuff would. If you are even slightly contemplating dropping the rest of the equipment out of the exhaust, just wait and get a turbo-back system as discussed in several other threads.

Here is the muffler delete pipe. There WAS a muffler just aft of the flange.

This would be for LMMs only. Your LBZ has no sensors in the exhaust.
