RE: Hoots post about 110 outlets on the DODGE

I would use those outlets dodge has.
ANd I wouldn't be making toast while I was drivin either.
Alot of guys use there trucks on job sites and have generators to run power tools. The generators are sometimes loud, heavy, fuel hungry , etc...
I could see having the truck at idle while your running a couple of saws, drills, air compressors, radios, lights etc. All off of a truck.
And you wouldn't even have to load the generator back into your truck at the end of the day!
I was looking at adding an aftermarket generator to my duramaxes a while back.www.auragen.com
But the price was too high imho.
For now I carry Honda 6500's with me in the truck and even rent tow behind 25-50kvw's.
AN integrated power source would make my life alot easier.

I just wish they would be more readily available in all trucks.

We test drove a Pontiac Vibe last Monday... it had a 110V outlet on the dash. I asked the salesman... he said you could power a toaster or a hairdryer.. I asked him how many watts did the outlet provide... he says.... 100w http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif

Barely enought to run a light bulb. It's just a junky little built in inverter.
