Have a 04 with 10k miles and at idle it will chug and puke only at 170 degrees. Once past this it will run fine. I can also push past idle when at 170 and it will clean up. The problem has also been intermittant. Please advise...

No power adders on this truck it is bone stock

My guess: injectors.

Mine did it too. Sitting at a light, truck in "D", truck almost warmed up... chug shake and rattle.

Dealer replaced 2 injectors. Problem went away after that.

I suffered through this problem for months until I was able to get GM and the Duramax Quality Manager involved. My truck would only act up around 170-185 degrees and only in gear. A shift into N or P would clear it up. Turns out that it was an injector that was out of calibration. GM replaced all 8 injectors. They have since come out with the reflash to correct this problem. I would request the reflash first since it takes about ten minutes and if that doesn't do it then I would insist they replace the injector(s) that are out of specs.
