I have been reading this forum for months now and do not see any mention of the Banks Diesel tuners. Are they any good? I hear mention of the TST as one of the highest rated tuners but I have never heard of them, where do I find them? I am not trying to make my truck a hot rod but would like 125 to 150 more horses.

one word - EDGE

ColoradoCummins,

The Edge products and the van Aaken products are the leaders for the Dodges. Depending on the year of your truck you can get up to 120 HP and at approx 500.00 it's a bargain. We have all the Edge and van Aaken products call us if you want and we will try to help you.

Read the horror story thread on the Banks six gun on the Dodge site. Stick with the Edge.

I disagree Mark, TST is right there on power and TQ as Edge and Van Aken.Edge is probably the most popular but all 3 are the best IMO.

I'm going to have to second that -- TST is one of the best. I run the TST and Edge EZ stacked on my truck. Tons of power and the delivery is very smooth.

Before I bought either of these boxes, I was leaning toward Banks simply because it was the first hit on Google when I was searching for boxes. Their sales department didn't even return my calls for a few days after leaving them a message. Because of that, I further researched the company. I found several instances on the web of people who bought the Banks Six Gun, blew up the motor, and Banks wouldn't even return their calls. They were left with $8000+ rebuild bills.

I'm not at all implying that Edge or TST would foot the bill, but they WOULD return your call and work with you to find out what the cause of any problems might have been.

IMHO -- I would never purchase a Banks product.

Thanks Mark, My truck is a 2004.5 Laramie Quad cab with the six speed manual. Do I need to also add a K&N or other performance intake parts? I am completely new to owning a diesel and would like to do it right the first time on performance mods. Thanks in advance for all of your help.

I would do an AFE intake kit for sure, there is no way to completly use an extra 150hp on these trucks (too much EGT"s).I feel if your going to try and use as much power as you can with the stock turbo get an ATS exhaust manifold to equal the pressure going into the turbo, and a complete exhaust system too. Mark at DPPI can get you everthing you need.

I've done business with both DPPI and Floor-It -- good guys. :) As far as the air filter - I have an Airraid, but it seems that AFE is better. The K&N that's out for the new trucks doesn't meet filtration requirements and can lead to engine problems and voided warranties.

I have done business with DPPI as well....great people!! :ro) dsteinke..Where did this come from about the K&N?? I spent to much on that thing to begin with, and I sure as Censored don't want it to be the fall of my truck!!!
