OK guys I need some help. I get home from work this morning (drove the Lumina to work) and my wife tells me the right headlight is not working---high or low beam. After I get up this afternoon I go check it out. I check the fuses and all are good. Used my multimeter and sure enough--no 12 VDC to either bulb. She then tells me about the light in the dash that shows a man sitting with a ball in front of him. I go "Do you mean the airbag light??" She says "Well, yeah, maybe so." So I crank it up and sure enough, it goes through its checks and when done the airbag light comes on. I check its fuse in the fuse block on the left side of the dash and its OK. I crawled under the truck to make sure no wires were pulled down but did not find any.

Now, what do I check next?????

Your first thing to check is when the dealer has a open spot to work on your truck :)
Not to be a wise guy but I wouldn't fool with the air bag's. They are very easy to set off by accident while your poking around with a meter and if your in the wrong spot it could easily snap your neck. Also if you do find something and fix it God forbid you get into a accident and the thing dosen't go off like it's supposed to and someone is hurt because it dosen't work right. Would be way too much for my concience (sp) to take.
Take it to the dealer and let them have the responsibility of fixing it.
It's probablly something simple and easily fixed by yourself but you never know.

I found more. NONE of the lights work on the front right of the truck.

I went to the dealer today and talked to one of the mechanics. I also took it to a body shop (a friend of mine) for a quick overview. They both said it was probably a bad ground wire or connection, the one that goes to the right side of the truck.

I got home and started some more troubleshooting. I figured if it was a bad ground then I could just back-feed it through the ground on one of the headlight plugs through a jumper wire, just to verify. No dice. Still no lights. Still have airbag light.

I finally get it on the ramps and crawl under it with a work light. Everything on the right side looked OK. I move over to left side in front of the left front tire and......... HOLY Shttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/censored.gif T!!!!! SOMETHING CHEWED UP ALL THE Fhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/censored.gif K WIRES IN THE RUN GOING TO THE RIGHT SIDE!!!!!!!! I am now FURIOUS and ready to put a slug of lead in ANYTHING that even looks like it is headed underneath my truck. We have 3 dogs and 5 cats and there is not a damn one of them that is above a bullet in the head.

I found out from my 12 year old that when my daughter and son-in-law were down this past weekend (I was at work) that their two dogs and two of mine had a cat hemmed up under the engine compartment of my truck. Again I say: Ain't no dog above a bullet when it comes to chewing on vehicles. I've got enough crap to fix and take care of without some damn dog molesting one of my vehicles!

Well, now to get it fixed.
